Form CRS
The SEC has adopted new rules that require registered investment advisers to provide a client relationship summary (Form CRS) to investors effective July 30,2020.
Form CRS is a brief summary of investment-related services and fees. It was created with the client’s best interest in mind to bring more clarity to the decision to establish, switch or terminate an investment advisory relationship.
One notable feature of the Form CRS is the SEC provided “Conversation Starters.” These questions are included to encourage open dialogue between individual clients and their current or potential adviser. They include topics such as: investment choices, calculating fees, conflicts of interest and disciplinary history.
